Sad, but not that sad
I did the ritual exchange of keys, underwear and rolled up socks with my ex last night.
Truth to tell, dread of this has had a lot to do with my stress levels this week, and probably my weird dreams and problems sleeping.
One of the most horrible experiences of my life was doing the same thing around sixyears ago, and I had feared it would be as bad as that had been.
It wasn't.
In the end, it was quite a good evening - we chatted away about everything except us, and I was back in Glasgow for about 10.
I didn't sleep any better last night, though my dreams were more interesting if no less weird. My brain is still doing some processing of past relationships, and throwing up some strange cards. Last night's weren't unpleasant (far from it) but they were, um, surprising.
There's a real "clearing the decks" feel to my life at the moment. I'm writing again, taking more exercise, getting into more political discussions...
Tonight I'll be at the AGM for the Townhead Village Hall - I enjoy being on the board, but this meeting clashes with my seasonal dialogue, and I'll miss that.
Tomorrow I have a meeting in Stirling, and then I think I'll be off to Argyll for the weekend - cycling, walking, some good food. I can live with that.
