Week one of the 50 for 50 challenge seems to have gone ok. I'm down from 101kg to 99.3, which works out at 4 pounds or so (I'm now head/desk-ing over why I didn't do this in Kg, but 25 by 50 just sounds silly).

These are easy pounds, though, accounted for by going to the gym 6 times this week and cutting out puddings. I'm still having big meals, drinking, and having the occasional bag of sweets or scone, I'm also going for a 40 minute walk at lunchtime any day I don't make the gym (and some days I do). Last week I managed 3 gym visits in two days, because I was staying at a hotel, and and I also got to the gym before work for the first time in ages. That was only for 20 minutes, but this morning I left the house at 6.15, was in the gym by 7.15, and managed to burn 400 calories in 30 minutes on the cross trainer. That's way below my best (I'd gotten up to 460-470 last year) but a good step on the way back. I'm going to get to either yoga or badminton tomorrow night, then back to the gym on Wednesday morning. I need to build up a bit of a cushion, because I'm going away for a posh meal at Sharrow Bay next Saturday, and I don't think I'll be stinting myself.

The challenge doesn't really seem real yet, and I don't think it will be until I get below 15 stone, which should happen in early December. Left to my own devices my weight bobs up and down between 15 and 16 stones, and I haven't been under 15 for about a year. After that, I'll be aiming for 14 stones, the lightest I've been for about 10 years. And after that we'll see.

So, first steps taken, let's see where I get to.

Pounds work. Kilograms I could handle. Glad you are not doing it ALL in that "stone" madness. ;)

I'm never sure if your pounds are the same as my pounds (easy way to find out: how many pounds do you think are in a kilogram?) and I'm afraid I think in stones (and miles per hour) not pounds (or kilometres per hour).
