Me, I'll be just fine and dandy....

Argh for busy times...
I'm just back from The Discombobulation of Smog (as one of my friends called it the other day) and I'd planned to do a spoiler-laden review. But the sleep-dep is piling up again, so I'll stick to summarising the last few days...
I worked in Inverness on Wednesday and Thursday and, despite almost getting stuck in snow north of Aviemore, I enjoyed it. Friday was a bit of a draggy, count the hours sort of day, and my Edinburgh works night turned out to be a lot of fun, involving some very nice cocktails (Burnt Island Iced Tea and Randy's Sours, I think) and then a little bit of dancing. I was tucked up in bed by three, and awake by about eight. I'd hoped to have brunch in Edinburgh with my friend Marie, but she got ambushed by life, so I ended up having some good coffee in the Grassmarket and then heading back through to Glasgow for a very moochy afternoon.
The gig I was supposed to be going to tonight got cancelled, which was a my cue to mooch around being depressed because so many people I care about are coming to town especially for a party that I haven't gone to, for what seemed like quite gallant reasons. Actually, scrap that - it was right not to go. The hosts were spectacularly fair and even handed and would have welcomed me to the night, but I didn't go because I'd feel awkward. So after telling myself this, I stopped moping around and went to see Hobbitting (and Dwarving) at the IMAX. Which was good. Even if not a pile of gold was left unchewed by the Cumber-dragon.
Now I'm taking my sore throat (did I mention that I've lost my voice?) and a good book to bed, and sleep for a very long time indeed
