Serendipity

The Guardian has a feature on the decline of physics education these days, along with a pop quiz. Doing the quiz in work led to a discussion of Heisenberg's Uncertainty principle, which let to Schroedinger's Cat, which led to this explanation in the form of Dr Seuss...

I remember doing a course component at Uni, which I think was related to Heisenberg's Uncertaintity Principle - which was then related to whether you should run in the rain.

Something to do with the - actually, now I remember it was collision theory - if the rain drops are falling quickly, with big gaps between them, then you could probably run, but if the rain is lighter, you'll get wetter running than walking (or something like that!)
