Dear Diary

Tonight I was taught to stand, and then to walk.
People threw foam balls at me.
I was given a straitjacket to wear.
I was confused about handedness.
But decided to be a lefty.
Except using my right hand.
I learned to lunge.
I had sweat dripping off my nose, but nobody could tell because I was wearing a mask.
I was poked by a sucession of women.
A lot.
And I had a great time.
I think I'm going to like this fencing lark.

Now I'm off to walk my dog and go to bed.

As was I in a different hall as it turns out.
Glad you enjoyed it, only nine more weeks and you can kick my arse up and down the piste.

I don't think I'll be kicking any arses for a god long while - more than nine weeks, anyway :)
But I really enjoyed it, except for the mask, and I've a feeling that I'll get used to that.

You rapidly come to ignore and, when someone rattles you in the face, be very glad of the mask.

Yup, I got that impression :)
And if I can get used to wearing a scuba mask, I can get used to anything.
