Home again, home again, lickety spit.

Just got back from the cottage, having stayed up to see the Euro final - Spain were fantastic, but I was still surprised that Germany didn't come up with a late equaliser.
unblinkered and I had a lovely weekend at the cottage - we travelled up at lunchtime on Saturday, and were joined by psychochicken and zantic for curry, Who, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which was an entertaining wee movie. I realised a few weeks ago that the movies which get me most annoyed are not those which try to be clever, but those which fail.
Who was pretty good - most of the running around was off a metaphorical type, but there was still some good shouting, and I cried. Next week I'll be on my own, and must decide whether to watch it myself, or wait and see it with unblinkered. Oh, the agony of choice...

Made it down tonight in 1 hour 35 minutes. A pretty good time, and if it hadn't been for two sets of temporary traffic lights, I might even have made it in an hour and a half. Ah well, maybe next time...

Watched the final in the bar of a German restaurant in St. Paul MN, surrounded by lanky German men and svelte German women. And one lone Spain fan. I felt rather bad for him, since he didn't have friends to celebrate with. His wee boy was wearing a FC L'Etoile Du Nord jersey (the soccer team of the French Immersion school in Mpls, evidently), which was cuter than cute, however.

I drank Warsteiner and kept yelling "C'mon, Germany, yer killin' me here."

And really, when someone makes Michael Ballack's rather handsome face bleed, it's never a good day for football... *sniff*
