1. My uncle once: died in a motor cycle accident when I was nine. Just the once, but it made an impression.
2. Never in my life: have I eaten asparagus.
3. When I was five: I went to a Catholic school and my best friend went to a Protestant school. And we wonder why this country is fucked up?
4. High school was: somewhere posh people went. My school was a Catholic comprehensive and never once did anyone comment on the oxymoron.
5. I will never forget: The Holy City.
6. Once I met: Stephen Hawking.
7. There’s this boy I know: who swears he’s Elvis, but he’s a liar and I’m not sure about you.
8. Once, at a bar: always at a bar.
9. By noon, I’m usually: looking forward to night.
10. Last night: I made kedgeree, read a book, and listened to Andy Murray lose.
11. If only I had: the ability to teleport.
12. Next time I go to church: someone will have died, gotten married or been born.
13. What worries me most: is the gathering political dark.
14. When I turn my head left I see: a bookcase, a lamp, an unhung painting of irises.
15. When I turn my head right I see: a mannequin fully kitted out in fencing gear. Including the mask.
16. You know I’m lying when: I say I’m too tired.
17. What I miss most about the Eighties is: not much, actually. The Human League’s pre-Dare lineup..
18. If I were a character in Shakespeare I’d be: Hamlet, naturally.
19. By this time next year: I have no idea at all.
20. A better name for me would be: Corwin.
21. I have a hard time understanding: Spanish.
22. If I ever go back to school, I’ll: be arrested before I get within a quarter mile of the gates.
23. You know I like you if: I don’t run screaming in the other direction.
24. If I ever won an award, the first person I would thank would be: whoever I bribed most.
25. Take my advice, never: say the first thing that comes into your heart.
26. My ideal breakfast is: anything by the sea.
27. A song I love but do not have is: Curse you, iTunes… Um, ‘The future is not as good as it used to be.'
28. If you visit my hometown, I suggest you: pop round.

30. If you spend a night at my house: I am likely to entertain you with drinks and conversation, and ensure that you hardly get any sleep.
