I like the idea of buses with the slogan "There's probalby no god, now stop worrying and enjoy your life" tootling around our cities. It makes a change from those Alpha Course adverts (I tried that once - I didn't mind the religion, but the food was terrible) which threaten eternal damnation if you don't endorse their brand of god.

Apparently, Christian Voice are offended by them, though. That's a pity.

Now to go off and do some serious thinking about this - I'm not sure I entirely agree with a state-sponsored database of all my emails, but I'm not sure, yet, entirely what they are proposing. Once I am sure I can get on with opposing it.

I have no issue with folks putting whatever they like on bus adverts. But when it's done specificially to get a rise out of those that know no better, it's childish at best. Yes, the Christians are offended. That was at least the secondary (if not primary) aim of the exercise.

10 out of 10 for idea - minus several million for motivation.

I'm thinking of starting a campaign. "If you need to be told there's a God, there probably isn't one."

Um, I'm not seeing it as getting a rise out of anyone - I thought of it more as a comforting response to the Christian message (promoted last year on buses) that if you don't believe in their god that their is a lake of fire prepared for you. Forever.

I can't see any believer having their faith shaken by the mild-mannered message either.

Based on a misreading of Johnny Donne's old saw this morning, sorry.
