Dad Update

Well, he's out of surgery, and he's in ICU, as planned. In fact the surgeon said that everything had gone to plan with the op, and that he'll be under heavy sedation until tomorrow, and in ICU till Saturday. 

I do think the worst part is over. I also know that we're not out of the woods yet. And I'm still bloody 3,000 miles away, which is affecting me much more than I thought it would. 

So thanks for all your kind thoughts, and here's to a totally uneventful few days...

Glad to hear it. I will keep him in mind, but sounds like things are cautiously positive.

I will also give your regards to the West Coast this weekend.

Good news, that's a major milestone out of the way and the road looks clear ahead :)
