f4f3I'm up at the cottage, having left Glasgow around six and arrived here around eight. I could be doing all sorts of busy stuff with other people, but I'm putting all of that on the shelf for a weekend, and spending some time by myself. This has been suggested by a number of people, with the duration being put at anything between a week and a year. In similar circumstances I've been the one advocating at least one trip around the sun.
That can't be done - I've already arranged three nights out next week, one of which will be stressful, one of which will be silly and one of which is either a comedy or a tragedy, depending on whether I think about it or just feel it.
This has been a very strange week. My ex-wife was in town for the funereal of her brother, dead in his mid-forties from an unexpected heart attack. My most recent ex has been in touch, against her own clearly stated preference that we'd never talk again. I've realised that the most fun I've had in the last 18 months has been in the last couple of weeks.
So I've called "Time Out", and I will be sleeping, cycling and eating in nice places for the next 48 hours. Sounds like a plan...
