Spring Iz Sprung
Feb. 17th, 2013 10:11 pmWent for a ramble through the Botanics and up past the University today. Lots of new bulbs breaking through, and, wonder of wonders, my first sight of cherry blossom.
I have this huge feeling of being at the beginning of things for the first time in a long, long time, I've spent what seems like years hanging on to the past, and trying to make things work that really were beyond my ability to control.
A month or so, a few days, of relinquishing that illusion of control, of laying off trying to change the world through sheer force of will, and my own personal world has become a much happier place.
Spring is here. Change is in the air, and growth, and the force that through the green fuse drives the flower will not be denied.
As Ms. Reader sings it,
"Yes your smile is a prayer that prays for love
And your heart is a kite that longs to fly
Hallelujah here I am
Let's cut the strings tonight."
