This Immortal, Roger Zelazny
Jason is still herding his many-legged sheep in the high places, up where the fingers of Aurora come first to smear the sky with roses, and doubtless he is corrupting youth with his song.
This is the hard back edition of Zelazny's first novel, which is an absolutely dazzling mix of Greek myth and post-apocalypse Earth, and I think I've at least 4 different editions scattered around. Go buy your own, there was a re-issue last year.
