I haven't been especially good at taking care of myself this week...
Hurricaine Bawbag (as it was named on twitter) blew through the Central Belt yesterday, at anything up to 100 miles an hour. I went through to Edinburgh to pick up my laptop, and came back to Glasgow at lunchtime. At the time, it was rumoured that all trains were being suspended at 12.30. That didn't happen, but I was glad to get home all the same. Rattling windows, tree branches falling, and the Clyde bursting its banks. And it turned out that the trains were being affected - I got a call from my friend Jim that his Aberdeen train was only going to get as far as Glasgow, so I insisted on putting him up. He arrived around 10.30, just as we were reaching the cheese course at my neighbour's house. Pat insisted on serving Jim some fish stew, then we went next door for a couple of drams.
So I got to bed around 1.30, and was back up at 6.30, and so I am tired.
I'm probably going out again tonight, hopefully near to home, and hopefully I can have a nap first.
This weekend I will mostly be shopping on the Internet...
