Weirdest Work Afternoon For a While...
Feb. 3rd, 2012 04:42 pmToday I'm working from my company's Glasgow office, which has has a couple of anticipated consequences and a couple of unanticipated ones.
Anticipated was that I stayed in bed for an extra hour and half, and was still in the office before 9. Also, I was much more productive than usual, since I wasn't been pulled into meetings.
Less anticipated...
Steve decided to take us for champagne in Rogano's after lunch, and my friend Marie called to ask where 19 Royal Exchange Square was - I told her it was next door to where I was.
So I had a glass of champers with her, Steve and two of my other colleagues, then took her to the station and got on with some work. We have a good chat. I got back to the office around 4, and the rest have stayed downstairs - apparently bottle number three is on the way, and cars are being abandoned.
I'll slip off about 5, and get away to the cottage early.
An unexpected Friday, but not a bad one, so far.
