Bikram Yoga was described to me as "Like doing yoga in a sauna."
Wrong.
It IS doing yoga in a sauna.

The actual moves aren't too different from those I fail to do in my other classes, but the environment is totally different. The Studio is a nice, white, space, with lots of mirrors and windows. But the windows are closed, and the air conditioners are pumping out heat. I'd take it to be around 40 degrees, and dry. I have never sweated so much in my life. The sessions are supposed to last 90 minutes, but my first two have run a little longer than that. In both of them I've given up, but stayed in the room, when I started to get dizzy. Yesterday was at the 70 minute mark, today around 75.

I feel great when I finish, and have drunk around 2 litres of water. It seems to kill my appetite, and I'll be interested to see if I start feeling any benefit after a week or so. The deal was £20 for 20 days. As the instructor said today "No Bikram yoga studio ever sells a single trial lesson, because no one would ever come back for the second." I can understand why.

In other news, Anna's wheezing seems to have improved after I took her to the vet yesterday, but she doesn't seem to be eating or drinking, so we'll be going back this afternoon. I might ask for her to be kept in and put on a drip. She looks a little unsteady on her feet, although she's in no distress that I can see. She might just know that best way to get an infection out of her system, but I don't like it.

I'll keep you guys posted...

Vet thought it best to admit Anna and keep her in overnight, both to run tests and get some fluids back in her
I'd be a lot happier about the whole situation if she hadn't started talking about "quality of life" and "not intervening aggressively". This has only been a problem since the weekend, for crying out loud.

I think there is some fretting in my future.
