Strange Days Indeed (Most Peculiar)
Jun. 3rd, 2013 12:58 amTomorrow will be my first day of unemployment (something I'm assured will be a temporary condition).
I'm waiting for my offer of permanent employment with Japanese Megacorp, and have decided to take some leave while it's in the (literal) post.
I picked the right weekend to start. Friday night I was out dancing, Saturday morning was spent wandering around Edinburgh, and Saturday night and Sunday morning consisted of 10 and a half hours of sleep. That set me up for a morning of watching a 5K in Kelvingrove Park, and then an afternoon of playing football in the park with my friend Paul's kids, and then wandering through the Gibson Street Gala (where I managed to miss Psychochicken, despite walking along all of the painters in the lane.
I also signed up for 20 days of Birkram Yoga for £20. My plan is to go along tomorrow morning, and do some yoga in a 40 degree studio. This may not have been my brightest idea ever, but it might be fun.
I'm also trying to arrange a jaunt to New York towards the end of June, but that's in the early planning stages.
Only slightly worrying thing is that Anna cat seems to have developed a bit of a wheeze. She seems ok tonight, but I'll be taking her along to the vets tomorrow anyway.
This week should be fairly quiet - I've a board meeting tomorrow (I'm a non-exec on a local village hall thing), dancing on Tuesday night, and maybe one or two West End Festival things during the week.
Oh, and hopefully some chilling in the park, if the weather co-operates.
