Ambition

Why, when I've arranged to hand back the keys to my mostly emptied but very untidy old flat on Friday, have I arranged to be fencing tomorrow, whisky drinking on Wednesday and bowling on Thursday? Ah well... Back off to the old place tonight to do some more packing, I guess.

The new place is a delight - I will take some photos, I promise. The Kelvin Walkway is a powerful lure, so long as it doesn't rain. And it's been a while since it rained.

I'm trying to plan a bike trip for the last weekend of the month. I've plotted out a pretty good route to or from the cottage, involving two ferries, one island, and about 70 miles of cycling. I have a feeling this might be a bit ambitious...

Save some for me....I may need it if my company is about to get dismantled as the analysts seem to think it will after the appointment of what is essentially a Hedge Fund Manager turned Corporate Raider to the Board yesterday......interesting times as a Google search for news on them will show.

Thankfully Plan B is part of the reason I will be in the UK in June.... :-) What was that lecture I gave yesterday about one job setting up the next one? :-)

Well I'm not averse to my plan B being a subset of your plan B.

Well Plan B is actually Plan C while Plan B is on the back burner so Plan C has temporarily been promoted to Plan B while what was plan B is now Plan C temporarily in order to ensure that Plan B (formerly C) is given due care and attention while Plan C (formerly B) matures to a point where it can be promoted back to Plan B at which point we will decide how we handle an exit strategy on Plan C (formely B but now demoted again). Plan D on the other hand is still Plan D and some dialogue on that will happen next Monday/Tuesday in Dullsville.

Plan A failed - although it served a purpose. There is no Plan E you will no doubt be glad to hear! :-)

I was speaking to my nominal boss the other day about motivation at work. We agreed that he was being paid too much for his current role, and that he needed job satisfaction too, but that when he was a contractor he was quite happy to empty bins as long as his day rate was being met.

Well, I went from being the "Assistant Head Master" at the large but frustrating US Corp and took a pay increase to be a Jannie (Janny?) at a the worst run (almost as large) company in the world. The pay increase does not compensate for the Jannie work....

Thankfully for all concerned they wil be broken up and sold within 24 months I predict....that's the only reason there is "Buy" guidance on the stock right now as it is not for performance. The CEO is a numpty!!
