Explain? Never apologise, never explain, that's my motto! (and never leave any witnesses alive, of course). But I suppose I could admit that they are the first two moves for white of my favourite chess opening.
2. Zevon, Van Zandt, Earle... are you a discontent male?
Is there any other type? Warren, Townes and Steve tend to sign about grown up stuff, and, to quote one of my favourite songs about it, "I'm an Adult Now" ("I don't go out with girls anymore/I have to see women instead. No more 'boy meets girl, boy loses girl' for me/More, 'Man tries to figure out where it all went wrong in the first place'"). A profile of Townes suggested that he was more than acquainted with death, that, in fact, he was the sort of guy who death crashed with after an all night poker session and some brews. I'd also add in Tom Waits there, which kind of conclusively proves that I'm more interested in the words than the music.
3. So, what's this year's ultimate gadget?
I would have said the Nano, but I've been put off by the amount I've seen in the gym - they're so small that when you actually wear them they get covered by whatever strap or case you have them in. So I'll stick with my shuffle for the gym (appropriate technology) and go for these:

4. The fashion meme amused me - describe your fashion sense, both work & when you have free rein.
Work tends to be sober suits - I've had a thing about Austin Reid for a couple of years now, and got a made-to-measure last year. I occasionally indulge myself in strange waist-coats.
Otherwise shirts are my weakness - Thomas Pink and Ted Baker, with the occasional Hugo Boss.
Today is casual day, so I'm wearing Doc Martin's, blue 501's with a Jack Daniels belt buckle, a short sleeved grandad collar shirt from Austin Reid and a fisherman smock thing from Weird Fish which I really like. It's like this
