Working from home Friday...
Feb. 15th, 2013 02:17 pm..has its upsides and its downsides.
I managed to get to the dentist today, to get a clean bill of health, and to take Anna to the vet, where she got the same. I thought her shots were overdue, but it turns out that she last had them in September, so we took the time to do an exam, and have her claws trimmed back. That's mostly for the sake of my woolens.
The vet was very happy with her lungs, her weight, and her general condition, and says she's in great shape (and that she has a young face - what's that they say about pets resembling their owners?).
I've managed to get a fair bit of work done too, so that's another blessing.
The drawback is that I'd arranged to go out in Edinburgh tonight, so I'll need to head back through there later this afternoon. It's not a huge deal - I could even take the train if I felt like it, and get some work done on the way. I've decided to stay through in the East tonight, since the agenda involves clubbing till about one or so, and, hell, I'm old. It also gives me a chance to use my brand new leather travel bag, which I'm quite excited about. It smells like dead goat, so it's probably horse, and it's from a company called Scaramanga in Fife.
Life is, well, it's not getting back to normal, but it does feel as if, in some ways, I've been given a clean sheet. Someone mentioned the other day how many bridges I've burnt in the last 7 or so years, and she was spot on. Hopefully, Spring is the time to accept that some bridges can't be rebuilt, that some shouldn't be, and that some have rebuilt themselves into something different. Not better, not worse, but different. Leaving me to say hello and farewell, as always.
No, not to you lot. I'll be sticking around here and journalling. It's not as if I ever seem to run out of things to say...
