Sep. 17th, 2013 03:27 pmSo I haven't been breaking into apartments (or kissing smokers - last time that happened was around 20 years ago, but I woke up with an amazing sense memory of it the other week). Basically I've been living a quiet and blameless life, cutting down on my drinking and trying to get to bed at a decent hour.
That's worked well for most of the month, but I'm afraid events are conspiring to drive me off the straight and narrow. Early nights are being driven out by the new telly. I hadn't realised that it was 3D capable until I unpacked it and found the two sets of 3D glasses. Even then, I knew that my Blu Ray player doesn't play 3D disks. Imagine my surprise when I found out the the PS3 does...
So I've been working my way through the disks I do have which came with 3D versions. So far The Avengers is the pick of the bunch, but Imay have did buy Iron Man 3 yesterday.
After playing Gran Tourismo 5 on a 60 inch screen, it would have seemed foolish not to order Grand Theft Auto 5, wouldn't it? So that should arrive today or tomorrow.
I'm also going out on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - a combination of bad planning and an inability to say no. So tomorrow is a chance to see my new car in the metal for the first time and a gig I'm really looking forward to. The Temperance Movement have been building a bit of a buzz for the past year or so, and I've been a big fan of Phil Campbell, their lead singer, for a lot longer than that. They're playing at my local venue tomorrow night, and it should be a lot of fun.
Thursday is unplanned drinks with PT and a soon to be ex-colleague. For some reason he's quite keen on being at the Apple Store on Friday morning, so I'm giving him a bed for the night.
And Friday is a reunion of sorts, with the crew I worked with at Motorola some 20 years ago. Part of the agenda is a four dram tasting at the Scots Malt Whisk Society, so Saturday may well be cancelled...
