I've not been updating much lately, not because I haven't been doing anything, but because I've been doing too much, and most of it during my blogging time. I usually get to update during the day at work, but we've been putting together a presentation, most of which seems to consist of my boss hanging over my shoulder in approved Dilbert style and saying, "No, no, click there! Now!". Bah.

So what have I been up to?

At the weekend I had lunch for the first time in the Scotch Malt Whisky Society's swish Edinburgh New Town members' room. I've had barfood there a few times, but this was my first visit to the restaurant. Multiple thumbs up, a lovely room and excellent if slightly fussy food. Not too expensive for what was on offer, and followed by a leisurely stroll around the National Gallery and Princes Street, spotting cows and culture. I will not mention Bill's scarf, in case he does terrible things to me on the X-Box tonight.

Sunday was down in Newcastle, and more arty stuff at the Baltic and the Quayside. I also got to see the millennium bridge tilt open for the first time

Cut for piccies:

It really is a remarkable piece of engineering, and looks amazing too. The Baltic had a couple of interesting exhibitions on, notably for me "The Space Time Tunnel" by Wang Du, which was like a space station corridor from a Gibson story, and "Fat House" by Edwin Wurm (crazy name, crazy guy) which put me in mind of a sinister early Disney cartoon, or something from Viz magazine.

Well done - I'm making sure everyone knows I'm out at lunchtime.
