All sorts of busy just now, my sister is up from Portsmouth , so I picked her up at the airport and tonight I'll be running her and my lovely niece and nephew around the family visits.

So I only made it to the gym on one night this week, Monday, then Tuesday and Wednesday morning. I played badminton on Tuesday lunchtime, which was a nice workout.

Tragedy of the week is that I've left my iPod at home in Newcastle, (well, for a given value of tragedy). I'm really missing it, and have been in actual danger of talking to people in the gym twice now.

K and I have made plans to go to the gym every day this week and bottled every time.

Someone said on this site somewhere,

"First you fake it, then you make it"

I'm still making myself go, but it gets easier after the first two weeks...

Don't tell me, tell K. He's the one with the willpower. Allegedly.

"have been in actual danger of talking to people in the gym twice now"

...the neanderthal-ly hirsute can talk?

No, but the white-haired old women can. The ones who sit on the only two recumbent bikes (the ones I want to use for my warm-up for 5 or 10 minutes) for 45 minutes. So maybe "talk" wasn't what I meant to say.

Nah - more like huffin and puffin that "about time they got off" or "don't want to be having a heart attack dearie..."

What are you doing at gym when the oldies are there? Aren't they restricted to going there after 10am and before 5pm?

I've a feeling that a lot of retired people stay in the habit of getting up early - and what else is there to do at 7 o'clock when it's too dark to play golf?
