You've got to do it *very* *carefully*, so the book still retains the appearance of being unread. And woe betide you if crumbs fall out afterwards...

I haven't actually taken delivery of said books (and I won't identify them in case the recipient gets a clue) - they might turn out to be too fragile to read without pages dropping out :-(
