Back at the cottage again. Partly to do a couple of odd-jobs, partly to let Anna and Merlin enjoy some fresh air (Anna, more than Merlin - not much chance of letting a cat out at the flat). Poor
unblinkered has to go to work tomorrow, so she's left in Glasgow while I swan off to mid-Argyle.
Since I had the car to myself, I took the military road through Glen Fruin, and then the twisty, roller-coaster road along the side of the Gairloch. Fun, since I had it mostly to myself. Top Gear magazine called the first part of the drive the best driver's road in the UK. I sometimes forget what a joy the WRX is to drive at speed, the edgy feel as it scrabbles for grip in corners, the sudden increase in weight as it almost bottoms out, the brief joy of getting some air under the wheels. All indefensible, of course, but great fun. And Merlin didn't complain too much.
Yes,
blonde222 ,I did stop off at the Oyster Bar, and picked up some bradan rost for tonight's dinner - pasta, cream and salmon, good comfort food. I've managed to lose 3 pounds since the start of Lent, so I can break training for the weekend, I think.
I brought the "Smokin' Aces" DVD up to watch. I've had it out from Amazon Rental for about a month and just got around to watching it tonight, much to my disgust: whoever said that on-line DVD rental firms were the new gyms had it right. The movie sucked donkey dicks, btw - don't see it.
I've retired to the porch now, laptop in, um, lap, to watch the latest episode of Torchwood. I have the fairy lights on, their are streetlights glittering on the canal, and after Torchwood I'll walk Merlin down to the shore.
I really do love this place.
