The Blue Remembered Hills
Feb. 11th, 2008 02:48 pmClear blue skies at the cottage today, and temperatures around 10 C. Just back from the Barnsluagan walk, which rises up from "the granny walk" (a flat, well surfaced trail around a wee lochan) to cut across some of the ridges above. A nice, half-hour jaunt for Merlin and I. It's still a little muddy up in the hills, but not too bad. Before that I went to the end of the road beyond Kilmory Knap, and stopped off at Castle Sween on the way back. I managed to take a good few pictures, including some nice shots of the hills, but I can't find my card reader up here, so uploading will have to wait until tomorrow.
It's still lovely outside, and I'm tempted to take on the Glashan cycle trail, but Merlin is looking a little tired, so that will wait for another day. For now I've just finished the leftovers from last night's salmon pasta, and I've put the Fellowship of the Ring on the DVD (thus reminding me again what bastards the elves are). Before I settle down, I'll take the bike out along the tow path, I think, and give Merlin another run.
