1.    “We musn't underestimate American blundering. I was with them when they blundered into Berlin in 1918.”
Claude Raines as Captain Renault, in Casablanca

2.    “There's an old joke - um... two elderly women are at a Catskill mountain resort, and one of 'em says, "Boy, the food at this place is really terrible." The other one says, "Yeah, I know; and such small portions." Well, that's essentially how I feel about life - full of loneliness, and misery, and suffering, and unhappiness, and it's all over much too quickly. The... the other important joke, for me, is one that's usually attributed to Groucho Marx; but, I think it appears originally in Freud's "Wit and Its Relation to the Unconscious," and it goes like this - I'm paraphrasing - um, "I would never want to belong to any club that would have someone like me for a member." That's the key joke of my adult life, in terms of my relationships with women.”

Woody Allen, summing up the human condition and the problems with men and women in Annie Hall.

3.    “ I thought all writers drank to excess and beat their wives. You know, at one time I think I secretly wanted to be a writer.”

"This is the Voice of Doom calling. Your days are numbered, to the seventh son of the seventh son. "
"Oh dear. One of the servants has been at the sherry again. "

4.    “I have never been a quitter. To leave office before my term is completed is abhorrent to every instinct in my body. But as president, I must put the interests of America first. America needs a full time president, and a full time Congress...”

"I'm a wild and an untamed thing."

5.    “Did I hurt you much, sugar?”
“You and every other man I've ever met.”
Agnes telling it to Bogie like it is,  in The Big Sleep

6.    “We are men of action, lies do not become us.”
Wesley, prior to earning himself a knock on the head from The Six Fingered Man in The Princess Bride

7.    “It has come to my attention that the maintenance staff is switching our toilet paper from Charmin... to generic. All those opposed to chafing, please say "Aye".”

Reese Wetherspoon, demonstrating her fitness to go to Harvard in Legally Blonde

8.    “Not the beard!”

Gimli, in Lord of the Rings

9.    “You always have a very smooth explanation...”
“What do you want me to do, learn to stutter?”

" Heavy. What is it?
"The stuff that dreams are made of. "

10.    “I'm a hero. I was shot twice in the Tribune.”
“I read where you were shot 5 times in the tabloids.”
“It's not true. He didn't come anywhere near my tabloids.”

Nick Charles, to his wife Norah, after having solved the case of The Thin Man.

11.    “Well, that covers a lot of ground. Say, you cover a lot of ground yourself. You better beat it - I hear they're going to tear you down and put up an office building where you're standing. You can leave in a taxi. If you can't get a taxi, you can leave in a huff. If that's too soon, you can leave in a minute and a huff. You know, you haven't stopped talking since I came here? You must have been vaccinated with a phonograph needle.”

Groucho Marx, in Duck Soup

12.    “Sir!... Sir!... Here's a good stick, to beat the lovely lady.”

"Now all of you cheer like protestants."

13.    “I finally had an orgasm, and my doctor said it was the wrong kind.”
"You had the wrong kind? I've never had the wrong kind, ever. My worst one was right on the money."

14.    “I've done questionable things.”
Roy Batty, in Bladerunner

15.    “What’s so special about the cheesemakers?”
A baffled attendee standing quite a way back from The Sermon on the Mount in The Life of Brian.

11 is Marx Brothers. Um, Duck Soup?
14 I'm pretty certain 14 is Bladerunner
I keep thinking 10 is Marx Bros as well but it probably isn't.

I really likes #2. Although you seemed to have skipped over which movie it is from. Like a lot of the other quotes.

From: [identity profile] f4f3.livejournal.com
That's because you have to guess which movie they're from - why should I do all the work around here? ;)

#10 is Nick and Nora Charles in The Thin Man (or one of its spin-offs -- the one with the Christmas tree decorated with balloons).

#2 is definitely Woody Allen. I'm going to guess Annie Hall, where I believe his character was called Alvy Singer.

Is #13 Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal in When Harry Met Sally?

10. Spot on - the original cocktail crimefighters, and the first movie

2. Good guess - Annie Hall it was, and Alvy Singer he was,

13, though, close(ish) but no ceegar.

Ah isn't 13 Woody Allen? Couldn't tell you which one so I'll guess Everything You Wanted TO Know About Sex...
4 is bugging me. It's obvious who's saying it, but there's at least 2 movies it could come from not to mention it's not original dialogue but a real historical speech. Is it from a documentary I'm previously aware.
(Of course the subject of 4 once said of himself "You look at Kennedy and see what you want to be; you look at me and see what are" which I always rather liked.)

13 is Woody Allen, but not EYWTKAS
4 you've pegged the speaker - it runs rather obviously under the dialogue between the actors. And forms part of the other dialogue.

There's a connection to Doctor Gonzo everywhere. But not in this movie.
