And one of the busiest, too...

Friday: get to the West End about 6. Pick up Parathenia, take her to the new flat (the first time I've entered it as the tennant) unload loads of frilly food and some of unblinkered's boxes, get back in the car and start engine. Stop engine as Unblinkered, Zantic and Psychochicken draw up alongside me. Leave P with them, drive to old flat. Collect dog, bedding, overnight stuff and Elizabeth (who has no LJ) and drive them to the new flat. Stop engine, get out of the car, give the keys to Unblinkered to unload it and then walk down towards Kelvinbridge Underground to meet Delilliy, who has just phoned to say she's arrived. Walk her back to the flat, eat onion bajis, drink. Realise that P has been pining for Oran Mor cocktail for six months, frog march her there. Pick up a kebab on the way back, then sit up till one listening to my friends talking.

saturday: Get up first, leave a house full of sleeping women (gosh, how I've grown) and walk Merlin back to the new flat. Pick up toothbrush, walk back, discover that the corner shop behind the flat sells the Guardian AND proper morning rolls.

Wake up guests, P disappears to run up the Kelvin (presumably the Walkway, since she arrived back only slightly moist). Feed guests, herd them cat-like into Scooby in one case and off to enjoy the West End in another, and drive to Cairndow. Via the old flat to pack for another overnight.

Beautiful drive in the sunshine to the Loch Fyne Oyster 30th Anniversary Food Fair. Eat good food, drink fizzy, buy a man bag, lie in the sun, listen to my friends talking. Wave psychochicken and zantic off back to Glasgow, continue to Ardrishaig with unblinkered, Delilly, Elizabeth and her hubby Ally, eat curry, watch Local Hero, go to bed.

Sunday: lazy morning, afternoon walk along Loch Collie Vahr, complete with ruined villages, abandoned mills and no Fairy Isles, back to Glasgow, go see Iron Man, love it, collapse back to the old flat via Crepe et Croissant, realise we have no clean bedding, no ironed shirts, and, very possibly, no towels at all.

Will sleep, now.

Aside from the possible towel problem, sounds lovely!

All right, then. What's a proper morning roll? :-)

Not half as rude as it sounds, actually :)

Glasgow does a strange species of bread roll (or bun, or bap) with a chewy, doughy interior and a peculiar hard crust on the top. Hard core enthusiasts such as myself prefer "well fired" or, to use another word, burnt, rolls, with the top blackened. One of these rolls, with a dlice of square sausage and some butter is the pinacle of the breakfast snack. I add a tottie scone to mine.

Oh, "tottie scone" or "potato scone" is a flat potato cake, usually fried.

It's childhood cuisine like that which keeps Glasgow in the premier league of cardiac disease...

Managed to dig out a towel from somewhere. And I got to use it first, too!

Mm, cardiac disease...

Might as well excel at something. :-) That does sound awfully good, though.
