We can know what it is, or where it is, but not both.
Long story, but it means that two delivery guys showed up at 7 a.m. to connect our new washing machine. Not to deliver it, no. Just to connect it. I could have asked them to wait 24 hours until they'd delivered it, but since they are the same delivery men who'll be delivering it tomorrow... You can see the problem.

Personally, I blame SAP.

Left wondering if a crinkle in time led to them leaving and bumping into themselves coming in the opposite direction clutching a washing machine. That won't reach you till tomorrow.

Where is the Doctor when you need him?

I think SAP is an excellent culprit. I spent most of the morning updating a specific field in a large database. Then I went to lunch. When I came back an hour later, the field had a new choice on the pulldown menu that had not been there that morning. Databases can make you doubt your sanity!

In your case, though, I'd call it "brainwashing."

I'm wondering if they will deliver two dishwashers and two washing machines. And if I should mention it if they do...

I spent a year putting SAP into a local utility. And then I walked away, whistling.

Ah. Everyday absurdity. Where would we be without it?

The same lads will show up tomorrow with the washing machine, and gripe that today's chaps didn't get it properly installed.

Germany.
(Many years ago, Willie Rushton was having a muse on "I'm Sorry, I Haven't A Clue". "Ah, what would the English be, without their sense of humour," he asked no one in particular, before replying to himself "German."
