Thanks for all the poll answers.

So the beard stays.
Trimmed and tidied up, but it stays.

And I went out today and spoke to the nice people at Richer Sounds, who have the TV I want at the best price, but who charge for delivery, and then walked up Buchannan Street and talked to John Lewis, who agreed to match the Richer Sounds price, and who don't charge for delivery, and then went back to Richer Sounds, who agreed to drop the delivery charge. So they got my business, because I'd spoken to them first.

So at some time in the next week or so, I'll have a 60 inch Samsung  PS60F5500 plasma TV.

So, wonder what I should have for the first movie night?

A modest 8.1 system. Centre, two floor standing fronts, 2 rear, 2 rear effects, and an active sub woofer. Onkyo amp. You know, the usual.
