Since I've been sent down here to do you lot's thinking for you again, I thought I might as well get some good out of it by instituting a daily lunch-time walk. This is, in itself, unusual for the place I'm working in. When I told them where I went, several heads exploded.

The Royal Accademy is on Picadilly, just opposite Fortnum and Mason's. GO THERE! (well, go to both of them because F&M Orange Pekoe Tea is one of the world's great things). I just strolled along to check what was on just now (and yes, I know I could have looked on the web but that's kind of missing the point, isn't it?). What is on is an exhibition on Matisse and His Materials (which I hope is a pun on his fabric making) which I'll see next week.

While I was there, I had a stroll through the Fine Rooms (they deserve the capitilisation) overlooking the courtyard, which is a bit of a pigs breakfast of scaffolding at the moment, but still one of the great spaces in london for zooming about doing airplane impersonations when you're drunk.

The Reynolds Room is the very spot where Charles Darwin presented his paper on The Origins of Species. Worth standing there for a few minutes and feeling the trembles that are still travelling around the earth from that room (they're due to hit Tenessee any year now, Martha).

All fun, all free, and all doable in a lunchtime from Green Park Tube.
