Depends. If you are cleaning because you are embarrassed to let your cleaner see it dirty (yeah, I know someone like that), that's neurotic and a little crazy. If you are moving stuff out of the way so that the cleaner can do the jobs you hate properly, that's good manners.
The latter. I'm pretty sure any cleaner worth their salt has seen worse than anything I'm liable to present them with, but at the same time it's basic manners to not expect them to manhandle my dirty underwear off the floor before being able to hoover it!
