Gym Time

I just noticed that I haven't been posting lately about getting along to the gym, compared to the daily bulleteins you were getting at the start of November. Well, the reason is good news, I guess, in that my exercise routine has become just that - part of my daily routine. I'm getting along at least once a day, Monday to Friday, and resting at the weekend.

This week is fairly typical, except for a spike on Tuesday when I actually spend two and a half hours exercising:

Monday evening, 10 minutes bike, 30 minutes cross trainer
Tuesday morning, 10 minutes bike, 30 minutes cross trainer
Tuesday Lunchtime, 1 hour badminton,
Tuesday evening, 10 minutes bike, 40 minutes cross trainer
Wednesday morning, 20 minutes bike, 30 minutes cross trainer
Thursday morning 10 minutes bike, 30 minutes cross trainer

I've started looking more at calories burnt than time taken - 30 minutes for me on the cross trainer is about 400 calories, 10 minutes on the bike about 120 calories. Instead of increasing the time I'm spending exercising (which might be dificult to fit in) I'll try to keep gradually increasing the calories burnt by striding or cycling more. I might even be tempted to try some classes (apart from yoga) in the New Year.

I'm still getting a good buzz out of exercising, and it's obviously good for my health, so hey, ho, let's go....

I'm enjoying it, so I think I'll keep it up, but thanks for the positive strokes!
