The Road, and How To Hit It

f4f3A quiet day at the cottage. Porridge for breakfast, some cleaning and tidying, and then meatballs and pasta for a late lunch/early dinner. We'll be hitting the road back to Glasgow in about an hour or so.
I'm feeling pretty relaxed after a very chilled weekend. Roddie Frame is helping - I have his "Western Skies" CD on. As a matter of fact, as Joss Wheedon has Kitty Pride say, "I am very cool. My coolness is only exceeded by my calm, which is total".
Let's see, in the last 48 hours I've listened to all of the new Lloyd Cole boxset (all four disks), I've read one of the Lawrence Block "Burglar" books (The Burglar Who Read Spinoza), watched Scotland beat Italy at rugby, gave my new tires a thorough work out on the Oban Road (only one twitch, breaking after overtaking a lorry and trailer on what amounted to a hump-backed bridge) had a fantastic meal at a restaurant I'd never been to before, took a long hike to Otter Ferry, and watched three episodes of Firefly. Oh, and washed windows.
We could probably have hit the road a but earlier, and got more light on the way back, but the hell with it - we aren't in any rush.
Hope you all had an equally excellent weekend, and let's hope the space between weekends will be as pleasant.
