I've been having fun doing the Twittering thing, and I think I have it more or less in proportion - it's a good way to do short and sweet hellos, and tiny updates. Sort of like Facebook statuses. I can't really think of a bigger use for it. The text message length removes any nuance from it, and the lack of a way of targeting different audiences keeps it almost entirely literal. I'll have a look at what the people attempting to make money out of it are saying, but for now it's more or less a cheaper way of sending text messages for me.

I'll quite gladly twitter away, but I don't expect to give up LJ anytime soon.

I pretty much agree. I'm treating it like I used to use text in the UK, but don't here, because practically no one I know here does! It's a smile or a pointing to something, not a conversation, and never an essay.

Then again, that's me - it's either short and sweet, or an all-nighter.

I've avoided it so far due to fear of information overload. I waste enough time on the net and facebook as it is!
