Wherever you go, there you are...
Nov. 25th, 2009 10:29 pmYesterday I had the next few days marked out pretty well. Thursday I'd be at the Vaults in Leith (home of the wonderful Scots Malt Whisky Society) for a seasonal dialogue, then I'd stay over in one of their members' flats, and on Friday morning I'd drive to Aberfeldy for a weekend of guided introspection and long walks, and on Sunday I'd toddle back home, and collect my pets from their minders.
If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.
The dialogue has been moved to the SMWS's other room in Edinburgh, which is equally nice but has no flats (I blame Diageo) and so I'll be coming back to Glasgow on Thursday night. The atrocious weather and the flu pandemic have led to the weekend course being cancelled. Options to replace that have come along incredibly quickly, and seem to be settling on a boys night out in the South Side on Friday, followed by brunch and then the Homecoming concert at the SECC on Saturday.
Not what I'd planned, but not an unpleasant prospect.
Mixed news on friends today. I'm incredibly worried, or, if she's reading this, mildly concerned for one, and have had the great news that another will be in Glasgow next week. So swings and roundabouts.
I'm also waiting for Son and Heir to tell me where he will be for Christmas. I'm not 100% sure, but I've been checking prices for last minute flights to Germany.
I seem to be taking the on-ramp to the Synchronicity Freeway again. This bothers me a lot less than it should.
In other, other news, I broke the 450 calories in 30 minutes barrier tonight at the gym. Now I can recalibrate on 500 calories. I may be getting slightly hooked on my own endorphins, since one of the plus sides of not going away this weekend will be being able to make the gym on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I've been 15 times in the last 17 days. Displacement activity? Moi?
