Last week I discovered that the local school in Lochgilphead has a very respectable gym, and I put in an hour or so there on Saturday. On Sunday I cycled about 22 miles or so. On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I went to the gym in Edinburgh.  Mostly to do half an hour on the cross trainer, but usually a little bit more, and I did a full hour on Monday (I've figured out that I can watch iPlayer on my phone, and picked an hour long episode of Doctor Who). Today I was back at the gym in Lochgilphead. 

That makes 7 sessions in 8 days, all of more than 400 calories. I'm not sure that's going to show up in my weight, but hopefully it will show up in my fitness. Can I keep this up? Not sure. But I'll be at the gym tomorrow. 

In other news, my builder finished the insurance work on the cottage. I now have very nice flooring in the two bedrooms and hall, and the rooms have been redecorated. 

Last night I put a bed up in the spare room, and slept like a baby. The lounge is half cleared, and my brother is coming up next weekend to help me put the place straight. I've asked the builder to quote on doing the same job in the lounge. If he quotes something reasonable, then I might try to get that done too. I'm not there yet, but it's a lot better than last weekend. 

Next week I'll be in Edinburgh from Monday to Friday, and in the same place every night. That's making a difference too. Things are not simple, things are not easy, but I'm still a very lucky man, and I should remember that more.
