"I'll Sleep When I'm Dead"
Feb. 27th, 2013 11:03 amAccording to my Sleep Cycle app (a think of beauty, and the only alarm clock I've used for the last year) on Sunday I had 5 hours of sleep, 4.5 on Monday, and 6.5 last night. This isn't a poor, poor pitiful me whine about insomnia, but an acknowledgement that I've been having too good a time, and also noting that having that good time in Edinburgh knocks an hour off any kind of sleep I'm going to get (I got to bed at 1.30, 2.00 and half past midnight on those three nights, two of which involved driving back to Glasgow).
Still, you do the crime, you do the time, and so long as Mark Eitzel doesn't keep me out too late tonight, I should be able to catch up some sleep, and even though I'm back out in Edinburgh on Thursday, I can sleep till 8 on Friday, so I may be in good shape to be slave labour for my brother this weekend.
Life at the moment is too damn busy, which is fairly amusing since I was lamenting my solitary life of take-aways and movies for men who like movies for men not so long ago. Somewhere, I think about half way through this month, a switch got thrown, and my life has been much, much busier, but also much, much more fun ever since.
I've always believed that we were put on this earth not to suffer, but to fly. And, of late, my life has felt a bit like that old film footage of the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk. Lots of trundling, then a skip into the air, then another. At the rate things are progressing, I think I'll hit Mach One sometime in March.
Stay tuned...

Date: 2013-02-28 11:32 am (UTC)But mostly I came to gush about Sleep Cycle. My husband got hooked on it, but then had to really talk me into it. I love it!! Mostly because I adore having so much data, if I'm honest. But it does make me a lot more aware about my sleep patterns. It's got me to drag my bones off to bed earlier than I would otherwise. It's also a really smooth and gentle wake-up. But the unexpected thing I really like about it is that I no longer wonder if I should get out of bed when I wake up at an odd hour. I know that if it's near enough to time, the alarm will start up, and if it doesn't, I can peacefully go back to sleep without even opening my eyes to check. What a great app.
