Fun weekend was fun...
Nov. 3rd, 2013 06:19 pmHaving four people staying at the cottage meant I had to stay upstairs in the attic - I'd forgotten how much stuff I have up there in boxes... Kintyre weather meant we had to call off the golf (we might have braved the torrents of rain and 40 mph winds, but they shut the course when the lightning started) but much fun was had elsewhere.
The Lantern Parade went ahead despite everything the elements through at us (photos when I get them from my phone) and the fireworks were great, even if they'd been moved to the other side of the bay. The bonfire this year was in the shape of a giant salmon - someone should have realised that a fish doesn't burn. There was much smoke, the odd lick of flame, and when I drove past today the salmon had obviously made it back into the water and escaped.
I got back to the flat to find my brother has completed some guerrilla decorating, the the spare room is pristine. I'll give it a day to dry, and move the furniture back in tomorrow night.
Sad to think that Scooby may have completed his last run to the cottage. This weekend he happily took three people and three sets of of golf clubs around Kintyre. I wonder if the new car will manage that?
Tonight I think I'll lie around and watch old episodes of Justified - I may even have a Chinese take away. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Date: 2013-11-04 04:44 pm (UTC)Ours was busy and productive - and gone in a flash! That part, I wasn't so fond of. It's better when weekends stick around for what would feel like longer than a few hours.
