I arrived 15 minutes early for my ECG, and was out 5 minutes before the appointment was due.

The clinician who did the scan told me there was absolutely nothing to worry about on it, gave me a letter to take to my GP, and waved me on my way.

Given that the guy who was seen immediately before me was asked to wait to see a doctor afterwards, I was quite pleased and relieved about that.

So I had no excuse not to go to Inverness, and I'm now swaying through the dark of a Highland night, having hit up the trolley service for every available First Class benefit - sandwiches, cup cake, crisps, a bannanananana, tea, wine and whisky. I wish I'd got on at Edinburgh instead of Perth, since the Glasgow to Perth service only got me a measly cup of tea and some fruit salad.
