After ploughing through pages of Google listings, all related to Nova Scotia in one way or another, I finally find the Scottish Vernacular Dictionary which inconveniently tells me that the meaning of "bluenose" depends upon which coast one is on. Heaven only knows what happens if one is sitting somewhere solidly terrestrial.

Hun = Rangers Fan

Dundee do play in Blue, so that would make sense.

Hearts are the traditional Protestant team in Edinburgh, Hibernian the tradiotional Catholic one - this isn't as strong an identification as Rangers and Celtic, but it does persist.
