Did you ask what the risk was that they were managing by not letting single people in?

(Friend of mine once asked to see St*rbuck's risk assessment when they were refusing to sell her coffee beans on grounds of 'health and safety'.)

I make it a policy not to argue with bouncers - there's no way they can back down without losing face, so they won't.

The only time I got around one was when he told me "I'm sorry, it's a student night." and I said "No need to apologise," and walked round him. But that was a very long time ago.
