Procrastination...
Jan. 23rd, 2014 02:52 pmI'm sitting in the Inverness office, having travelled up last night, and I have one more task to do before I can pack up and head south. So why am I procrastinating by updating my journal? Mostly because I'm running ahead of schedule - I'd planned to be out between 3.30 and 4, and I've actually finished things more quickly than I expected. Partly because the next task is not easy - i need some more information to do it, and I don't think I'm going to get it today, and partly because I don't want to walk out of the office before 3, even though I've accomplished all I can feasibly do today.
I don't usually think rationally about procrastination, but when I do, I realise it's not as rational as I'd hope or as irrational as I fear.
Tonight, so long as I leave the office on time, I'll be off to see the Peatbog Fairies, for a fairly stompy evening of electrified folk. Well, Scottish folk. Bagpipes may feature, I don't know.
So I want to get home and chill for about 30 minutes or so before I go out. So I'd better get moving...
