Somebody told me that I overthink things.

Well yes, I thought, I think about things a lot.

Doesn't everyone?

And then someone (Anna, who may or may not still be around here, but who plays a mean game of Scrabble) posted something like "Twelve things you'll only understand if you overthink things". And all of them applied to me.

So there's a thing.

And there's a new person at work, who described himself as Red and likely to get Redder the more pressure he was under. Poor chap, I thought. Hypertension is a bitch.

And then he went on to describe what I took to be a Myers Briggs knock off, where we are all one of four colours. So I took the silly test, and I'm Yellow.

Which means I thrive on supportive and creative environments, and hate being judged, amongst other things, and that was right too (don't worry, I'm not reading anymore into this than I do into the fact that Pisceans are romantic fantasists who are fond of a drink.

But still, as Hamlet, Oedipus, Lear and those other guys said, "I wish I'd known this stuff earlier."

The question is - how can you make your life better with this knowledge?

It's a good question - my thought is to be a little bit more in the moment, and also to actively look for a job that suits my temperament, or find a niche in the current place that does.

And stop worrying so damn much...
