The Great Gym Playlist
Oct. 18th, 2005 09:40 amOk, I'm putting together a mix which will take my pulse rate from rest (about 80 bpm, apparently)into the weight loss zone (90-125) and leave me firmly in the cardio-vascular zone (125-150)before easing me back down to a soft landing.
I'm finding Tom Waits uniquely unqualified for this (except for "Going Out West" from Bone Machine, which has a great Drum and Bass solo. Well actually, it has a great Drum and Someone Kicking the Shit out of a Wardrobe solo, but let's not quibble).
So all suggestions greatfully received, and I promise to gym test every one...

But I think Firestarter will get in there once I'm over my huff, ta!

Date: 2005-10-18 01:01 pm (UTC)Actually, I like Pismo, because I always imagine Bugs and Daffy trying to get to Pismo Beach and ending up anywhere but there....

oh, and
"Stop getting on and off, the doors are closing"
which all went over well.

Date: 2005-10-18 04:19 pm (UTC)The First Cut is the Deepest
Date: 2005-10-18 04:33 pm (UTC)Warm up:
The Passenger, Iggy Pop (4.40)
Getting into it:
Born Slippy, Underworld 9.44
Firestarter, The Progidy: 4.41
Lust for Life, Iggy, 5.10
Jean Genie, Bowie, 4.09
Weapon of Choice, Fat Boy Slim, 5.36
Warm Down,
Wholly Humble Heart, Martin Stephenson and the Daintees, 5.20
If I had A Million Dollars, Barenaked Ladies, 4.26
I've been wanting to listen to Weapon of Choice for a while, and the last two always put me in a mellow mood (Humble) and then make me smile ($1,000,000)
So, as those other philosophers used to say,
"Hey-ho, let's go!"
